Biography
Yongchang Shao graduated from Northwest University of Political Science and Law in 2000.
He joined the underwriting medical investigation team of Ping An Life Insurance's Henan Branch in September 2002. From June 2005 to June 2018, he held a number of investigation, underwriting and claims-management positions at Ping An Life's head office, including Claims Department Manager.
From June 2018 to June 2023, Mr. Shao served as a departmental general manager in the Commercial Insurance Centre of Ping An Healthcare Management. He is currently General Manager of Yingdong Medical and Health Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Senior Counsel for life and health insurance at Horizon Law Firm.
Mr. Shao holds the senior claims-adjuster qualification issued by the Insurance Association of China. His professional recognitions include Ping An Group's Top 50 Professionals and Ping An Life Investigation Expert. He was a principal contributor to projects recognised by the Shenzhen Municipal Government's 2007 Financial Innovation Second Prize and 2016 Financial Innovation Excellence Award.
He has extensive practical experience in life and health insurance claims. He has participated in, supervised and reviewed investigations involving more than 6,000 insurance incidents, and led the handling of what was then China's largest individual life-insurance death claim, involving a payment of RMB 118 million.
